Help Needed - 2018 is going to be busy and fun at AEA. With several big fundraisers on the horizon, the EPO needs your help to make them successful!

Volunteers are needed now for our big Fundraiser (EPO’s version of the E2 Event) April 22. This event will include SCV, AD, and Beverly Hills campuses and will feature a Color Run, fun, food, entertainment, and silent and live auction. Other surprises will be announced soon.
Penny Wars – This yearly event pits grade against grade and benefits all students. Penny Wars Committee now forming for this January event.

Scholastic Book Fair – March 19 – 23 - This spring, follow your furriest friends to the Paws for Books Book Fair: Come. Stay. Read a Great Tale! Find purr-fect books and a dog-gone good time as our staff, students, and their parents sniff out books from Scholastic and other publishers that will make their tails wag! Book Fair Committee now forming.

Whether you have time to make 10 phone calls or can volunteer on a regular basis, your time and talents are needed and appreciated. Please contact to help with any of these events.

The Wild Goose Scavenger Hunt - Rescheduled

Sat. Jan 20, 3-6 pm, Vincenzo’s Pizza, 24504 Lyons Ave.

It’s time again for our annual Father/Son Event. This year promises to be the wackiest event yet! We’re sending teams on a Wild Goose Chase that requires super-sleuthing ability. Tickets are $20 per father/son team, $8 for each additional male sibling. Includes lunch and more! Checks payable to AEA and can be turned in to the Office.


Community Service Opportunities 


Community Service Opportunities for the Holidays – AEA has partnered with several local non-profits to help make the Holidays brighter for those in need: 


  • Color Run Committee Sign Ups now open! – The EPO’s at SCV, AD, and Beverly Hills invite parents at all campuses to
    help plan our Color Run & Auction, scheduled for April 22, 2018. Sign-ups are now open for the first of many committee needs at Additional sign up opportunities will be posted soon. Watch for details.


  • The Holiday Toy Drive Extended - Due to the overwhelming response to this worthwhile cause, we are extending the deadline to donate a new, unwrapped toy or game to Friday, December 15. Please place the toy in the bin outside the Office. Remember to attach a completed Community Service timesheet to your donation. Students can earn a maximum of 1 hour of Community Service for donating.
  • Food Drive benefitting the SCV Food Pantry Dec. 4 – 15 - Please leave donations ($5 bags of food suggested) in the SCV Food Pantry Bin located outside the Office. Students can earn 1 hour of Community Service for participating in this Opportunity. Please attach/include a completed timesheet with your donation.
  • Holiday Gift Wrapping at Barnes & Noble - Various dates in December. Open to 4-6th graders. Wrap gifts purchased at BN for customers. All supplies provided. 1 hour of Community Service for every hour worked. At least one adult must be in attendance for each shift. Sign up at
  • Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive Dec. 9 & 16 - Volunteers are needed to help solicit donations from shoppers and ring the kettlebell. Please note: One adult is required for each shift. Student volunteers should wear AEA apparel. Help is needed in two locations on two different dates: December 9 at Vons, 16550 W. Soledad Canyon Rd. and December 16 at Ralphs in Granary Square (McBean Pkwy). Sign up at
  • 2018 Rose Parade Float Decorating – The South Pasadena Tournament of Roses invites to add flowers, seeds, and other materials that will turn the float into a beautiful work of art. Volunteers are welcome to come down to the float site to help during any decorating shift. For more information go to

Lost & Found

AEA Lost and Found is overflowing! If your child is missing anything, please check Lost and Found this week. Lunchboxes, sweatshirts, water bottles and much more need to be reunited with their owners. All items still in Lost and Found on December 18 will be donated to local charities.

Dad’s Club

Dine Out with AEA
Ladies Choice – This year, we are letting the girls decide what they want to do at the Mother/Daughter Event in April and the Father/Daughter Event in May. Email your top three suggestions for each event to One email per girl, please.

2018 Dine Out – Kids’ Choice – Hey Rockets….where do you want to hold the Feb. March and April Dine Outs? The EPO wants to hear from you! K-2 will host the February Dine Out, 3rd – 4th the March Dine Out and 5th-6th the April Dine Out. The restaurants will be selected based on student input. Proceeds from these events will be divided equally among the respective grades. Vote for your top two locations now by sending an email to
